Theme: “Prepare yourself to meet the Lord”
Text: Isaiah 40:1-5
1. Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2. Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and cry to her that her bondage is ended, that her iniquity is atoned for, that she has received from the hand of the Lord double for all her sins. 3. A voice cries: Prepare the way of the LORD in the wilderness, Make straight in the dry places a highway for our God. 4. Let every valley be made high, and every mountain and hill be made low! Let the hills turn into plains, And the narrow defiles into valleys! 5. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all flesh will see it at the same time; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Let's remember:
Our eyes will never perceive the glorious coming of the Son of God unless we remove the walls and other barriers that block visibility and prevent us from communing with God. There are too many mountains, too many hills, too many valleys that separate us from the coming Son of God. We are on the opposite side to that of the Lord because of the iniquitous nature of our life. Only pure eyes and strong hearts will be able to see divine majesty. So it is time to clear our path, it is time to sanctify our lives while a voice cries: prepare in the desert the way of the Lord, make straight in the dry places a highway for our God. Let us gather our strength and put our lives in order so that every valley may be lifted up and every mountain and hill made low. Thus the hills will change into plains, and the narrow defiles will become valleys. When order is restored, our eyes will have the ability to better see our coming Lord. Let's prepare now without waiting for tomorrow. Let us put our hope in God, He waits for us to abandon ourselves into his hands so that he pours his strength into each of his children. Have a great Tuesday. Amen
