Let us thank the Lord for his blessings

Monday January 1, 2024

Theme: “Let us thank the Lord for his blessings

Text: Psalms 103:1-2

1. Of David. My soul, bless the Lord! May all that is in me bless his holy name! 2. My soul, bless the LORD, And forget none of his benefits!

Let's remember:

It is said in Jeremiah 17:9. “The heart is devious above all things, and it is wicked: who can know it?” The human person often thinks about his playlist of things that he does not have, instead of giving thanks for those that he has received from his Lord God. This ingratitude is linked to the fact that each person thinks they deserve what they have acquired. However, if it were a question of deserving what we have, no one would be able to rejoice. No person can deserve anything without losing it the next second “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. God does us favors at all times because his Father’s heart overflows with love. David, having very quickly understood this, exhorts his own soul in these terms: “My soul, bless the Lord! May all that is in me bless his holy name”. It is a monologue and not a prayer. He pushes the spiritual part of his life to long for the most spiritual Being. As the flesh disperses in its lusts, our soul must bring it back to gratitude and thanksgiving so as not to remain ungrateful. If our soul sets out to bless the Lord and not forget his benefits, then the heart, the conscience, the mind, our innermost being, the self, the thought, all will embark on this enterprise of praise. And that's when David said, "Let all that is in me bless his holy name." All of us must bless the Name of God. Every part of the body, but also our property, furniture and buildings must bless the Holy Name of God. Let us bless the Lord for every blessing and forget none. Excellent 1st Monday & Best wishes 2024. Amen
