Theme: “Let us be clothed in humility”
Text: Matthew 18:1-5
1. At that time the disciples came to Jesus, and said, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2. Jesus called a little child and placed him among them, 3 and said, Truly I say to you, unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter. in the kingdom of heaven. 4. Therefore whoever humbles himself like this little child will be greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5. And whoever receives a little child like this in my name receives me.
Let's remember:
The heart of the little child does not caress the proud thoughts of wanting to gain the upper hand over others. The child only needs one thing, to feel loved because loving is what the child knows how to do. Let's return to the modest stature of small children to relearn the basics of humility on a basic scale. Whenever we are faced with a situation that requires a reaction, let us remember to act as if we were still innocent toddlers. The heart of a child breathes only love and humility. In his innocence, the little child only aspires to high things for the sake of living and experiencing them, but never to crush other little children. Here below, to occupy major positions of responsibility, you must be a mature and consistent person, you must not be a little child, you must not look like a little child but like a big man, while for the kingdom of heavens, it is quite the opposite. Entrance into the world of the great down here requires that we prove ourselves, taking the time to convince the most unbelieving. But to enter the kingdom of heaven, we simply have to convert, we have to change our way of life. It’s about becoming the image of a child. Conversion consists of moving from a life of pride to a life of humility. Among the signs that we are truly true Christians is conversion. Conversion comes with humility. There is no humility without conversion; otherwise it's called false modesty. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
