Leaning on God's Faithfulness

Sunday May 1, 2022

Theme : " Leaning on God's Faithfulness " Text : Psalms 37:23-25

23. The LORD makes firm the steps of a man, And he delights in his way; 24. If he falls, he is not struck down, For the Lord takes his hand. 25. I was young, I grew old; And I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his posterity begging for bread.

Let's remember:

In the evening of his life, David reviews his days of struggle, of combat, of sadness, of joy, of glory, of victory… he concludes that God is faithful. In reality, the goodness of God lasts forever. It depends only on his fidelity, which itself is constant. Let us have this assurance which is transmitted to us by David: No righteous person will be abandoned by God, because his faithfulness never retracts. Let the Lord establish our steps so that he may take pleasure in our ways. If we should fall, the Lord will take our hand and will not allow us to be struck down. David draws this assurance from the faithfulness of God because he has experienced it since his young age. As a child, David already knew how to rely on God's faithfulness. This is how before the clumsy Goliath, an expert warrior; little David, leaning on God, had overthrown this giant who stood before all Israel like a wall, from the height of his two meters. Before Saul, David relied on the faithfulness of God; despite all the snares against him, God had always protected him triumphant. Like David, let us rely on the faithfulness of God; we will not be abandoned. Excellent loyalty June. Amen Alain Louz.-
