Theme: "Jesus' Presence Sanctifies Our Lives"

Text: John 4:15-26

15. The woman said to him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. 16. Go, Jesus said to her, call your husband, and come hither. 17. The woman answered, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, You have said well that you have said, I have no husband. 18. For you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband. In this you have spoken the truth. 19. The woman said to him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain; and you say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21. Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is of the Jews. 23. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father seeks such to worship them. 24. God is a Spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. 25. The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (the one who is called Christ); when he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26. Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”

Let us remember:

The living water that Jesus gives quenches our thirst and keeps us connected to the source so that we depend on it. Whoever drinks of this living water will thirst enough for Jesus. He will drink from this water without respite and without tiring until eternity. This is the secret of the sacred presence of Jesus in our life. The presence of Jesus makes us dependent on Him so that we draw only from Him. It is because we do not have the presence of Jesus in our life that we draw elsewhere in sin. The presence of Jesus is a well that allowed all the inhabitants of Sychar to draw life and salvation from his Word. In the presence of Jesus, there is the revelation of hidden things that our surroundings do not know. Everything that was hidden is revealed in the presence of Jesus. Eyes are opened in the presence of Jesus. Those who experience the presence of Jesus do not have a specific place to worship Him because they know that the most important thing is to make worship a lifestyle. No matter the place, the circumstance and the time, in the presence of Jesus, worship takes the appropriate turn which is the spirit and the truth. God asks that his presence be established and installed in our lives so that we are no longer wavering like children in the faith. The presence of Jesus sanctifies us, it brings us to the knowledge of the Son of God, so that we are no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the deceit of men, by their cunning in the devices of seduction, but that, speaking the truth in love, we grow up in all respects into him who is the head, even Christ. Excellent Thursday. Amen
