Theme : “ I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh ”
Text : Acts 2:14-18
14. Then Peter, presenting himself with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them in these words: Men Jews, and all you who sojourn in Jerusalem, know this, and give ear to my words! 15. These people are not drunk, as you suppose, because it is the third hour of the day. 16. But this is what was said by the prophet Joel: 17. In the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young people will see visions, and your elders will have dreams. 18. Yea, upon my servants and upon my maidservants, In those days I will pour out of my Spirit; and they will prophesy.
Let's remember:
When God pours out his Spirit on a group of people at the same time; unity and peace come to settle among them. A form of spiritual intoxication takes them to the point of losing the autonomy of their actions. They are now led by the Spirit as wine leads its drinker. Several phenomena are observed, such as courage and new communication skills. A person who lacked the language skills can hold a huge crowd in suspense. The outpouring of the Spirit brings revelation, counsel, instruction, and guidance in decision-making. It is on this occasion that the Spirit comes to convince the audience: of sin, of judgment and of justice. As for those who are not under the influence of the Spirit, they are amazed because the miracle is obvious. Every Christian is a servant of God according to his call and his vocation. Let us respect the authority of the Holy Spirit in our lives by yielding to him the direction of these. Excellent Pentecost Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
