Theme : " Happiness in the teaching of Jesus " Text : Matthew 5:10-11

10. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! 11. Blessed are you when you are reproached and persecuted and say all kinds of evil against you falsely because of me.

Let's remember:

Jesus continues to teach us happiness; he says, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." When we suffer persecution because of righteousness, God gives us the kingdom of heaven to possess it. Thus, happiness becomes exponential. There is everything to be gained by sighing ardently for justice despite the contempt and persecution of men. Jesus teaches us that happiness is not in the luxury, the material, the colossal gain of banknotes. It is only a semblance of happiness which can suffer ruin, rust, gall, famine, pestilence, and which locusts can devour. Happiness comes from God, it is in the virtues, in the fruit of the Spirit, in sanctification, in obedience to God. Happiness is also to suffer insults, persecutions, calumnies, because of God. Let us not be saddened to be fought because of God; and not because of our own faults. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
