Growing in Faith

Monday January 22, 2024

Theme: “Growing in Faith

Text: Genesis 12:1-8

1. The LORD said to Abram, Go from your country, from your country, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. 2. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a source of blessing. 3. I will bless those who bless you, and those who curse you I will curse; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. 4. Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot departed with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he came out of Haran. 5. Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, with all their possessions and the servants they had acquired in Haran. They departed to go to the land of Canaan, and they came to the land of Canaan. 6. Abram traveled through the land to a place called Shechem, to the oaks of Moreh. The Canaanites were then in the land. 7. The LORD appeared to Abram, and said, To your descendants I will give this land. And Abram built there an altar to the LORD, who appeared to him. 8. He moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and pitched his tents, having Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. He also built there an altar to the LORD, and called on the name of the LORD.

Let's remember:

To grow is to gain volume, to become larger, to become more important, to be consistent and consistent. We are primarily in the realm of spiritual maturity. Growing in faith means becoming sufficiently mature in the love shown toward God. It is about being able to love God even when circumstances prevent us from doing so. Growing in faith means believing without doubting but above all without aiming for any profit. Growing in faith is just a response to God’s perfect love for us; then we return the favor by growing in faith. Growing in faith is about removing questions when God speaks. We don't ask questions about the ins and outs. We get up and go where the Lord sends us, we do what the Lord says to do. We listen and we execute without thinking, in short we let ourselves go according to the wind of the Spirit of God. Abram moved with all his livestock, with his human and material heritage. Such a move on foot should take a long time and strong nerves. Abram did not look at the unknown destination, a country that he did not control because humans do not like to live in uncertainty. Growing in faith means being on a perpetual adventure with God; but a very beautiful and pleasant salutary adventure full of twists and turns; ending in eternity. Growing in faith opens you to wonderful promises from God. Have a great Monday. Amen
