God Visits His People

Saturday December 23, 2023

Theme: “God Visits His People

Text: Luke 7:11-17

11. The next day Jesus went to a city called Nain; his disciples and a large crowd traveled with him. 12. When he was near the gate of the city, behold, there was being laid in the ground a dead man, the only son of his mother, who was a widow; and there were with her many people of the city. 13. The Lord, having seen her, was moved with compassion for her, and said to her: Do not weep! 14. He came closer and touched the coffin. Those carrying it stopped. He said: Young man, I tell you, get up! 15. And the dead man sat down and began to speak. Jesus returned him to his mother. 16. All were afraid, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has appeared among us, and God has visited his people. 17. This word about Jesus spread throughout all Judea and all the surrounding country.

Let's remember:

When God visits his people, he brings life back to where death had already been declared. It is a great joy to open our lives to God when he comes to visit us. Let's allow him to touch our lives. Let us stop for a moment when God comes to visit us. Let us allow him to speak the oracles in our favor. Let him make statements that fill his heart with God. God's visitation does not come to us without showing compassion. If God is moved with compassion for us, he will be obliged to perform a miracle that would astonish the world. In the lonely walk, in the desperate walk to the cemetery, in the lamentations that tear our hearts, let us implore the visit of God. Let us pray that God visits us to lift us from our anxieties. Let us ask for his compassion so that he can come to our aid. The world around us will come to visit us but it will not solve our problems. Yes, he will help us carry certain burdens but will not find the solution that could calm our hearts. No solution for deliverance would come from men. But when God visits his people, death turns into resurrection, the scenery changes and the smile returns; joy returns in a lasting way. Nothing can compare to the visitation of God. Let us agree to open our hearts to God's visit, our dead gifts will come back to life, our illnesses will heal, shame will be removed, joy will return. Have a great Saturday. AmenAlain Louz.-
