Theme: “Divine Wisdom”
Text: James 3:13-18
13. Which of you is wise and intelligent? Let him show his works by good conduct with the gentleness of wisdom. 14. But if you have bitter zeal and strife in your hearts, do not boast, nor lie against the truth. 15. This wisdom is not that which comes from above; but it is earthly, carnal, diabolical. 16. For where there is bitter zeal and strife, there is disorder and all kinds of evil deeds. 17. The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceful, moderate, conciliatory, full of mercy and good fruits, free from duplicity and hypocrisy. 18. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who seek peace.
Let's remember:
These are the works that translate divine wisdom. The works themselves are supported by language, discourse, comments. Divine wisdom implies gentleness. The works of a person filled with divine wisdom are manifested in good conduct, gentleness and wisdom. When you notice a person who likes to argue, know that he does not have divine wisdom and will not possess it until he changes his lifestyle. Likewise, if a person has bitter zeal, he does not yet have divine wisdom. Let such a person not glory in his attitude because he does not honor the Lord God. We are told that this kind of attitude is a lie against the truth. Bitter zeal, lying, strife do not come from God. Rather, it is earthly wisdom that insinuates them. There are people who are infamous for their argumentative spirit, for their obscene remarks, for the conflicts and contradictions that they create everywhere; these people do not have divine wisdom. The world could call this wisdom but this wisdom is not that which comes from above; but it is earthly, carnal, diabolical. For where there is bitter zeal and strife, there is disorder and all kinds of evil deeds. Divine wisdom is pure, peaceful, moderate, conciliatory, full of mercy and good fruits, free from duplicity and hypocrisy. Excellent Sunday. Amen
