Theme: “Divine Wisdom”
Text: 2 Chronicles 9:22-23
22. King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. 23. All the kings of the earth sought to see Solomon, to hear the wisdom which God had put in his heart.
Let's remember:
Obviously, King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom. However, Jesus Christ is greater than Solomon in wisdom and wealth. Also, Solomon is a foreshadow of Jesus in that he drew many people to himself to receive the teachings of God. All the kings of the earth sought to see Solomon, to hear the wisdom that God had put in his heart. Let us know that wisdom only comes from the throne of God. Wisdom brings us closer to God and never the opposite. Wisdom attracts people to the one who possesses it; to hear God who is the source of this wisdom. In 1 Kings 10. 9 the queen of Sheba had given a poignant testimony for having listened to King Solomon. She had not been able to hide her thoughts; she said with conviction: “Blessed be the LORD your God, who has favored you to sit on the throne of Israel! It is because the LORD loves Israel forever that he has made you king to do justice and righteousness.” When someone has wisdom, he cannot live far from God. Likewise, God makes him a magnet who attracts all people to him without distinction of social rank. Have a great Tuesday. Amen
