Theme : “ Covenant with God ”
Text : Genesis 17:1-7
1. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, I am God Almighty. Walk before my face, and have integrity. 2. I will establish my covenant between me and you, and I will multiply you infinitely. 3. Abram fell on his face; and God spoke to him, saying, 4. This is my covenant, which I make with you. You will become the father of a multitude of nations. 5. You will no longer be called Abram; but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of many nations. 6. I will make you infinitely fruitful, I will make nations of you; and kings will come out of you. 7. I will establish my covenant between me and you, and your descendants after you, according to their generations: it shall be an everlasting covenant, by virtue of which I will be your God and that of your posterity after you.
Let's remember :
The Eternal God only wants good for us. He provides himself in our lives to make our days pleasant and peaceful. Full of love, He proposes to do us good at all times to prevent the occurrence of misfortunes. The alliance is an agreement, a commitment or even a union of opinions to create a mutual collaboration. It is God who comes to solicit Abram and not the contrary. However, God is Love, therefore a covenant signed with Him guarantees our tomorrows. So, let's open the Bible and read all the promises of God to make it our own. In our turn too, let us respect the consideration that is due to us so that the terms of the alliance do not become null and void because of the non-respect of the clauses. What God asks of us is holiness, sanctification, reading, practicing and spreading his Word. If we respect the clauses of the covenant, the Lord will bless us infinitely and even our offspring will benefit from our covenant. Like what, respecting our agreement with God is beneficial for future generations. If we want to live happy days on earth, let's respect the covenant with God. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
