Christian obedience increases faith

Friday January 27, 2023

Theme: “Christian obedience increases faith Text: Ezekiel 37:23-28

23. They shall no longer be defiled by their idols, by their abominations, and by all their transgressions; I will take them out of all the places where they have lived and where they have sinned, and I will cleanse them; they will be my people, and I will be their God. 24. My servant David will be their king, and they will all have one pastor. They will follow my ordinances, they will observe my laws and put them into practice. 25. They shall dwell in the land which I gave to my servant Jacob, and in which your fathers dwelt; they will live there, they, their children, and their children's children, in perpetuity; and my servant David will be their prince forever. 26. I will make a covenant of peace with them, and there shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them, I will multiply them, and I will place my sanctuary in the midst of them forever. 27. My home will be among them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 28. And the nations shall know that I am the LORD, which sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary shall be forever in the midst of them.

Let's remember:

God wants us to go through a resurrection or national rebirth. But who would have believed it? Ezekiel himself had doubts. But his obedience paid off. God wants us to believe even in impossible things, knowing that with Him, the impossible does not exist. Even when death is declared, putrefaction noted, bones detached from each other and even scattered; when God wants to bring life back into such a body, he will do it in a few seconds. God is the only one able to grant us everything including faith; but he demands our obedience. Ezekiel could have refused to obey but he followed God's guidance. Ezekiel could have stopped and been moved with amazement and even anguish on seeing this kind of miracle; and yet he worked unceasingly to the end of the revelation. It can happen that our disobedience blocks the continuity of God's plan; and so God will use another more obedient person to unfold his plan from start to finish. Let us be obedient even in the face of impossible things because the Lord has no boundaries. The growth of our faith is dependent on our level of obedience. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
