Be happy

Sunday February 4, 2024

Theme: “Be happy

Text: Revelation 1:1-3

1. Revelation of Jesus Christ (Apocalypse means revelation), which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must soon take place, and which he made known, by sending his angel, to his servant John, 2. Who testified the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, all that he saw. 3. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein! Because the time is near.

Let's remember:

The Christian is happy because nothing is hidden from him by Jesus, his Lord and Savior. John, the disciple who clung closely to Jesus, was favored to receive revelation about the things that should happen. These are hidden things that no one else knew about. Among the disciples, he was happy to be the only one to receive this divine election to receive the angel of God coming to announce to him the hidden things. John was happy to attest these things as true because everything that comes from God does not fail to come true. We too are happy because this revelation is intended for us. From now on, our path is clear; our journey is known. The devil's injunctions will no longer frighten us because the Lord God has revealed to us the parades and other security measures to observe if we want to live far from these attacks. Every child of God must learn to know the thoughts and heart of his Heavenly Father. This involves daily reading and meditation on his Word. The closer we come to God through reading and meditating on his Word, the more happy we are to feel his permanent presence at our side. It is also at this time that we learn to obey and deliberately offer our hearts and lives to the cause of Christ. It is an immense joy to literally offer oneself to one's God. We will be happy  living for God and not for self. Let us therefore be happy to understand what time we are in and to better understand what must happen. Excellent Sunday. Amen
