Theme: “A Savior is born to us”
Text: John 1:15-18
15. John bore witness to him, and cried out, This is he of whom I said, He who comes after me has gone before me, for he was before me. 16. And we have all received of his fullness, and grace for grace; 17. For the law was given by Moses, grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18. No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, is the one who made him known.
Let's remember:
What happiness for John to announce such a great prophecy and see it fulfilled? John had taken a lot of time to proclaim the imminent arrival of the Savior and here he appears. Some people thought John was the Savior because of his strict lifestyle. But he refuted this notoriety and remained in his place as a precursor. Rather, he bore witness to the power of the Savior and his divine nature. To those who were willing to listen, John repeated the same refrain: “This is he of whom I said, He who comes after me has gone before me, for he was before me.” Obviously, before John was, Jesus reigned because he is eternal, creator of everything. Jesus only made a quick foray into this world to carry out a commando mission to bring back into the bosom of God the entire race of God’s children, once led astray by the devil and his minions. A Savior is born to us, invested with fullness which he distributes to his own and grace for grace. Our Savior came to establish a new testament based on grace and truth; unlike the law of Moses which required merit. A Savior is born to us; he came out of the bosom of the Father to bring life to the world. God visited his people. Have a great Thursday. Amen
