Theme: "The Transforming Power of the Gospel."
Text: 1 Timothy 1:16-17
16. But I obtained mercy, so that in me first Jesus Christ might show all his longsuffering, as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. 17. Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen!
Let us remember:
The gospel has an authority that is capable of transforming any person. The greatest blasphemers like Saul were transformed by the power of the gospel. In God's time, the gospel can transform a heart of stone into a heart of flesh. Nothing and no one can resist the transforming power of the gospel. In his love, God gave grace to Saul so that he could go from persecutor to preacher. He who had the plan to devastate Christians, saw his plan change course. His authority changed sides because he began to devastate the works of the devil. Saul underwent the transforming power of the Gospel. He is the great witness. God granted him his mercy. The powerful authority of the Gospel took over his whole life including his plans. From then on, Saul had come under the powerful authority of the Gospel and could no longer get rid of it. Thus everything about him changed, Saul became Paul. Jesus Christ showed in him all his longsuffering, so that he would serve as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. Paul no longer listened to anyone because he was led by the Gospel of God. Let us not forget that the Gospel is the person of Jesus. We too, let us be guided by the Gospel by putting into practice everything we learn. Let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the Gospel. Excellent Thursday. Amen
