Theme : " Spiritual ignorance "
Text : Isaiah 1: 10-16
10. Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom! Listen to the law of our God, people of Gomorrah! 11. What do I do with the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord. I am satisfied with the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of calves; I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, sheep and goats. 12. When you come to present yourselves before me, Who asks you to defile my courts? 13. Stop bringing in vain offerings: I abhor incense, new moons, sabbaths and assemblies; I cannot see crime associated with solemnities. 14. My soul hates your new moons and your feasts; They are my responsibility; I am tired of putting up with them. 15. When you stretch out your hands, I turn my eyes away from you; When you multiply the prayers, I do not listen: Your hands are full of blood. 16. Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean, take away the wickedness of your deeds from before my eyes; Stop doing evil.
Let us remember :
The Eternal God disapproves of the offerings that come from a person living in spiritual ignorance. Indeed, the one who lives in spiritual ignorance thinks that the offerings are sufficient to be loved by God. There are those who multiply sins and make offerings to redeem themselves, to be forgiven. This kind of behavior is spiritual ignorance. God does not take pleasure in offerings from defiled hands; rather, he recommends to us the life of sanctification. Let us not defile the courts of the house of God with our offerings which are worthless in his eyes. May each of us be an offering; offer our lives in the service of God. Let us listen to the Word of God in order to learn spiritual wisdom. If we continue in spiritual ignorance, we will waste most of our time without achieving the true knowledge of God.
