Theme : " Cease with betrayals "
Text : Matthew 26: 46-56
46. Get up, let's go; behold, he who betrays me draws near. 47. While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude, armed with swords and staves, sent by the chief priests and by the elders of the people. 48. He who betrayed him had given them this sign: He whom I will kiss, it is he; grab it. 49. Immediately, approaching Jesus, he said: Hail, Rabbi! And he kissed him. 50. Jesus said to him, My friend, what you have come to do, do it. So these people came forward, laid hands on Jesus, and grabbed him. 51. And behold, one of them that was with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword; and he smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 52. Then Jesus said to him, Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword shall perish by the sword. 53. Do you think that I cannot invoke my Father, who would give me at this moment more than twelve legions of angels? 54. How then would the scriptures be fulfilled, according to which it is to be so? 55. At this moment Jesus said to the crowd, You have come, as after a thief, with swords and staves, to take me away. I was sitting among you every day teaching in the temple, and you did not get hold of me. 56. But all this happened so that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled. So all the disciples forsook him and fled.
Let us remember :
As people come to us with the sole ambition of betrayal, Jesus tells us, "Get up and go." Let us not stand still in self-pity, but move forward while relying on the grace of God. There are some who will come with kisses, others with flowers, money, invitations in short, all kinds of hypocrisy, the semblance of generosity; may it not dazzle us to the point of altering our judgment. Let us remain focused and oriented towards the God of the restoration and the fulfillment of the promises. Betrayal can come from those closest to you who could not have been suspected of such baseness. Note that the outcome of any betrayal is fatal for its author because God defends his children when they are betrayed, and he punishes the traitors. Let us stop with betrayals because it is a work of darkness. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
