Theme: “Your sins have separated you from God

Text: Romans 6:20-23

20. For when you were slaves to sin, you were free from righteousness. 21. What fruit did you bear then? The fruit of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22. But now, having been set free from sin and become slaves of God, you have your fruit in holiness, and the end eternal life. 23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let us remember:

Sins separate from God anyone who refuses to repent. A person who persists in living in sin digs his own grave and ends up being buried there. A slave of God finds it uncomfortable to lead a retrograde life because her desires have changed. She finds nothing to gain in such a life. She feels shivers at the mere thought of going back to this life without a future. When we live in sin, we lack hope, we bear unworthy and guilt-inducing fruits. Sin brings condemnation back to the soul and heart every day. The life of sin is a prison whose key is in the hands of Satan the devil. People who have left this life and who have given their lives to Jesus; these people have been delivered from their worldly appetites, they have been set free and have become free. Free to sin no more, free to live for the Lord Jesus. It is for them that Jesus had snatched the key to the abode of the dead in order to open the door of sanctification for them. What could be better than passing from death to life? It is a real treat to pass to the fun side of life with an extension to eternity. We have become slaves of God. We have changed prisons, passing from Satan's prison to God's. Now, God's prison consists of all kinds of good works. Finally, our fruit is holiness and our end is eternal life. The slaves of God will enter into eternal life in Jesus. Sins separate us from God and the life of sanctification brings us closer to Him. Excellent Sunday. Amen
