Theme: "Your sins have separated you from God"
Text: Matthew 15:7-9
7. Hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well about you, when he said: 8. This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
9. They worship me in vain, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Let us remember:
There is a sin that is very common and that we do not often pay attention to: it is that of dissimulation, also called hypocrisy. It is an attitude consisting of hiding one's character or true intentions, of affecting feelings, opinions, virtues that one does not have, in order to present oneself in a favorable light and inspire confidence. It is a way of lying about true intentions by showing those that one does not really have. The behavior of the hypocrite betrays his speech. A hypocrite is like a theater or movie actor who plays a mimic game. He is a liar and nothing else. He does not keep his promises. We can say that every Christian is a hypocrite because he promises to leave sin to follow Jesus but he continues to sin. We say one thing and do its opposite. Hypocrisy is a sin that distances us from God. We are hypocrites because we are a people who honor God with our lips, but our hearts are far from Him. We pretend to honor God without keeping our promises. If we remain in this attitude, we will remain hypocrites and our worship, exhortation, testimony, praise, preaching will be in vain. Our hypocritical prayer will never rise before the throne of God. Let us now honor God with our hearts and not with our lips. Let us be true and faithful. May every word spoken be the emanation of our heart and not the ends of our lips. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
