Theme: "Your sins have separated you from God"
Text: Isaiah 59:1-2
1. The hand of the LORD is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. 2. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, that he will not hear.
Let us remember:
A woman can refuse her man because he is too thin or too dark. For the same reasons and for many others, a man can also separate from his wife. Our size or our complexion cannot separate us from God. There is only one thing that can put a wall between God and us, and that is sin. Sin is an offense to God's instruction. It is a lack of faithfulness in the accomplishment of a goal once accepted but not achieved. Every sin is a sword thrust that pierces the heart of God. Thus, God does not like the sin that we commit, while he is ready to renew his love towards the sinner, in the hope of seeing him change his life and live holiness. No! God does not separate himself from a person who lives in holiness. God is comfortable with anyone who puts his Word into practice. We will never touch the heart of God if we live in sin. We will tend to believe that God only listens to others. However, it is our holiness that must cling to God and not the other way around. No person feels at peace in front of his dirty and stinking child. No one would give food to a child with dirty hands, he would tell him to go and clean his hands first before eating. Even ordinary mortals do not accept it; how much more so God who is holy? Sin is the antithesis of holiness. God is holy and he wants us to be holy. Every sin separates us from God. If we commit many, then we are very far from God. Excellent Monday. Amen
