Theme: “You will love your neighbor as yourself, even those who live with disabilities»
Text: Matthew 25:34-40
34. Then the king will say to those who are on his right hand: Come, you who are blessed of my Father; take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35. For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; 36. I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me. 37. The righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or be thirsty, and have we given you something to drink? 38. When did we see you a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and have we clothed you? 39. When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you? 40. And the king shall answer them, Verily I say unto you, whenever ye have done these things to one of these least of my brethren, ye have done them unto me.
Let's remember:
We will be judged by God depending on how we reacted to people with disabilities. If the love shown to our neighbor has not met the requirements prescribed by God; we will be punished. A high point is put on the situation of people in difficulty; especially those with a disability. The verdict of God will be without appeal, he will say to us: Depart from me, cursed ones; go into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and for his angels. For I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not take me in; I was naked, and you did not clothe me; I was sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. But, It is possible to change this burning verdict and avoid it before it is pronounced. To do this, let us love our neighbour; even those who live with disabilities. Let us represent Jesus in the place of each person; even one who lives with the handicap of starvation, nudity, disease, prison. It is then that the divine verdict will be in our favour. We will be on the side of good people dedicated to eternal life. Excellent Sunday. Amen
