You will love your neighbor as yourself, even those who live with disabilities

Saturday September 24, 2022

Theme: “You will love your neighbor as yourself, even those who live with disabilities» Text: 1 Timothy 6:17-18 17. Recommend to the rich of this age not to be proud, and not to put their hope in uncertain riches, but to put it in God, who abundantly gives us all things to enjoy. 18. Recommend them to do good, to be rich in good works, to have liberality, generosity, Let's remember: Having wealth without having God is a serious handicap that can lead to delusions of grandeur. This can lead to the disease of megalomania which is a delusion characterized by over-esteem and excessive pride. To avoid this handicap, we must leave the control of our goods to God. And if God takes control of our possessions, he will protect them too. Wealth in itself is not bad as long as it serves the just cause of helping our neighbour. Wealth is not only financial but one can also be rich in good works, rich in good ideas, rich in knowledge, rich in lessons, rich in goodness and faithfulness… When we love God by following him; we become rich in good works. It goes without saying that by walking with Jesus, one becomes his fellow man, in other words Christ in miniature. Let us be rich in liberality, in generosity, in mercy. True wealth is not linked to money but to the great values of faith, love, sanctification, obedience to God, humility, self-sacrifice… Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
