You will love your neighbor as yourself

Friday August 13, 2021

Theme : " You will love your neighbor as yourself " Text : Matthew 19: 16-22

16. And, behold, a man came near, and said unto Jesus, Teacher, what good thing must I do that I may have everlasting life? 17. He answered him, Why do you ask me what is good? Only one is the right one. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments. Which? he said to him. 18. And Jesus answered, Thou shalt not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you will not steal; you shall not speak false witness; honor your father and your mother; 19. honor your father and mother; and: you will love your neighbor as yourself. 20. The young man said unto him, I have observed all these things; what am I still missing? 21. Jesus said to her, If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you have, give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me. 22. After hearing these words, the young man went away very sad; for he had great possessions.

Let us remember :

We think we are in harmony with God when we are far from it. The relationship with our neighbor is not just about giving a few coins to the poor; God asks us to share our “everything” without keeping anything. We must shed our strength for the good of others. Everyone should part with their spiritual, material, economic fortune, in short, all our wealth must be made available to our neighbor. Our professional activity must do good to others. Our spiritual gifts should be a source of joy for my neighbor. On the contrary, our advantages help in the subjugation of our neighbor. We crush our neighbor while helping him. We subjugate him at the same time as we pretend to help him. Love of neighbor consists in shedding our pride, our predominance, our length ahead of others. All this must be clear, love of neighbor is giving without keeping anything; it is enriching the poor instead of helping them on a daily basis. Excellent Friday and good entry into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
