Theme: “Worship that pleases the Lord»
Text: Isaiah 1:11-18
Isaiah 1:11 What do I care how many of your sacrifices? says the Lord. I am filled with the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of calves, I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, sheep and goats. 12 When you come to stand before me, who asks you to trample on my courts like this? 13 Stop bringing illusory offerings! I hate incense, beginnings of the month, Sabbaths and calls to meetings, I can't bear to see the injustice associated with celebrations. 14 I hate your beginnings of the month and your celebrations: they are a burden that weighs me down, I am tired of bearing them. 15 When you stretch out your hands to me, I turn my eyes away from you. Even when you multiply your prayers, I don't listen: your hands are full of blood. 16 Wash yourselves, purify yourselves, put an end to your wickedness, stop doing evil! 17 Learn to do good, seek justice, protect the oppressed, uphold the orphan, defend the widow. 18 Come and let's talk! says the Lord. Even if your sins are crimson in color, they will become white as snow; even if they are red like purple, they will become clear like wool.
Remember:
Worship must be admiration mixed with reverence for God. It is a sacrificial work which dissolves our life in that of God and comes out of it regenerated; having taken the form of God (holiness, love, peace…). All worship should be dedicated to God alone without mishmash. However, within the communities, there are many people who are very involved in serving God. They are never lacking in the cults, which have been very active for many years. They put their goods at the service of the church. Now, God sees in this a disguise which hides the true sinful life; many of these people are more into religion, they do not live in holiness. God does not need rebellious and unworthy servants and servants in His service. Let's not do the work of God to catch the eye of men. We will be stuck when receiving the reward; God will reject us without further ado. Morality: Let's serve God with our heart and not with carnal artifices. Let us give our life to God without keeping anything within us. The worship that pleases God is love and holiness. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
