Theme: “Worship God in Spirit and Truth”
Text: 1 Chronicles 16:28-29
28. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the LORD glory and honor! 29. Ascribe to the LORD glory due to his name! Bring gifts and come before him, worship the LORD in holy attire!
Let us remember:
To worship God is to love him passionately, to honor him and to devote to him an unreserved and undivided reverence. To worship God is to render Him a pleasing worship. To worship God in spirit and truth is to conform our lives to what we proclaim of God and to live in accordance with what he asks of us. Since He is holy, let us also be holy. He is love, let us also be full of love. He is faithful, let us also be faithful. If he asks us to give Him glory and honor, let us do it without remorse but with conviction. To worship God in spirit and in truth is to know how to give Him glory and honor. God does not negotiate with us the field of glory; it is his private hunting ground. He does not agree to share it, neither with a third divinity, nor with a human; even if he is a great preacher or worshiper. God expects us to worship him in the spirit of his will and not according to our individual conveniences. To worship God in spirit and in truth is to bring Him offerings. Let us know that the first offering that God expects is our heart, our spirit, our truth. The gift of self, the sacrifice of our life to his glory, is the offering par excellence. The rest is self-evident, it cannot be forced. He who loves God makes his offerings freely and with joy, without expecting anything in return. Finally, to worship God in spirit and in truth is to take enough time to prostrate oneself before the Lord with holy ornaments. Prostration is one of the notorious signs of both our humility and the elevation of God. It is a way of recognizing our smallness before his greatness. Excellent Wednesday. Amen
