Widowage: fatality or responsibility?

Sunday, June 26, 2022

Theme : " Widowage: fatality or responsibility?" Text : 1 Timothy 5:4-7

4. If a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first of all learn to exercise piety towards their own family, and to render to their parents what they have received from them; because it is pleasing to God. 5. She who is truly a widow, and who has remained in isolation, puts her hope in God and perseveres night and day in supplications and prayers. 6. But she who lives in pleasures is dead, though alive. 7. Declare these things to them, that they may be blameless.

Let's remember:

We know that if someone does not take care of his own, and especially his family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. God makes the difference between a childless widow and one who has. So let's take care of every widow. If we don't, the Lord will look upon us as pagans, unbelievers, wicked. Let's be sensitive and full of love. Let's not forget that widowhood is a must for almost everyone. Unless he dies first, if not, a person who commits to marriage also commits to widowhood. Anyone who is born from a parent must know that he will lose that parent. Widowhood is therefore in front of everyone's door, why martyrize widows/widowers? Every child or grandchild must take care of his parents or grandparents. This recommendation is final, it cannot be negotiated; she is without exception. As for widows who live in the pleasures of this world, the Lord is clear, they are already dead in faith; spiritually they are without God. Let such people put on scruples and decency, repent and return to God. Childless widows must rely on God. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
