Theme : Widowage: fatality or responsibility?
Text : Isaiah 54:4-5
4. Do not be afraid, for you will not be confounded; Do not blush, for you will not be dishonored; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And you will no longer remember the reproach of your widowhood. 5. For your creator is your husband: the LORD of hosts is his name; And your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel: He is called God of all the earth;
Let's remember:
This message concerns the redemption of Jerusalem, which passes from desolation to songs of joy. Its status of a sterile, desolate, abandoned gives way to that of the blessed city with several children born of the consolation of God. Widowhood no longer has any hold on her because the present Jerusalem is heavenly; there is no widowhood there. Strongly, let us aspire to enter this heavenly city where there is no mourning, no war, no widowhood, no debt, no fatality... And, Galatians 4:24-27 says: "Jerusalem above is the image of our mother; she is the mother of all the children who came from all the nations of the earth to form one people redeemed by God through the grace received in Jesus Christ”. In the same way that our heavenly mother Jerusalem will no longer remember the pains of widowhood, so it is that widows/widowers will no longer remember the atrocities suffered during their widowhood; the Lord God will mop them up and install peace and joy in their hearts. Desolation will give way to consolation. The Lord will be the bridegroom, a bridegroom who will never die again. Excellent redemption Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
