Text: Proverbs 3:9-10
9. Honor the LORD with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase. 10. Then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
Let's remember:
If we want our blessing to last, let's do things God's way. Our Lord asks us to offer Him the firstfruits. The firstfruits are the first fruits of the earth or the first born animals of the flock, which we must set apart in order to offer them to God. The wonderful demonstration of firstfruits can be that of Anne in 1 Samuel 1: “27. It was for this child that I prayed, and the Eternal answered the prayer that I addressed to him. 28. So I want to lend him to the Lord: he will be lent to the Lord all his life...». Anne gave her child Samuel as firstfruits; she never took him home. The child grows up in the house of God, and at his service. So the firstfruits means the beginning, the beginning. We must not neglect our beginnings, however small. Let us rather dedicate them to God so that he appropriates them. This is the secret of sustainable development. Let us honor the Lord with our possessions, with the firstfruits of all our income so that our blessing will last for generations. Before committing to the law of the firstfruits, let us prepare the place where our blessing will be stored, which will come a hundredfold. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
