Theme: "Welcoming the Lord Jesus Christ"
Text: Matthew 18:1-5
1. At that time, the disciples came to Jesus, and said: Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2. Jesus called a little child to him, and set him in the midst of them, 3. and said: Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4. Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5. And whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me.
Let us remember:
Welcoming the Lord Jesus Christ is a great symbol of self-abandonment, a symbol of humility because it is the opportunity to welcome a master who will take control of our life. It is a question of letting Jesus decide our life. For this, each child of God must convert and become like a little child. The child does not make any decisions, he lets the adult help him to evolve. The little child is irresponsible until a given age. He lets himself be led so as not to make bad choices. Let us be children and let God lead our life. If God is our Father, we must give him total control of our life. Jesus, by coming into this world, took the form of a child in order to show us that we can be born, grow up and end our life on this earth without being disobedient to his Father. He remained a child before his Father even at the age of 30, he remained obedient to God the Father. Let us welcome this childlike nature of Jesus to better resemble Him. Whoever humbles himself like a little child will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. He will receive the nature of the child Jesus who is humble and obedient. Whoever receives a little child in the Name of Jesus, receives Jesus himself. It is a closed circuit: whoever wants to welcome Jesus must be humble and obedient; and whoever wants to be humble and obedient must welcome Jesus. If we want to enter the kingdom of God, we must welcome Jesus into our lives and obey him. Excellent Tuesday. Amen.
