Monday, December 16, 2024

Theme: "Welcoming the Lord Jesus Christ"

Text: Matthew 10:40-42

40. He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me. 41. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and he who receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward. 42. And whoever gives to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only because he is my disciple, truly I say to you, he will in no way lose his reward.

Let's remember:

Welcoming the Lord Jesus Christ is a real challenge that should not be missed. It begins with a demonstration of hospitality towards the people who carry the message of the gospel. If every time, we chase away preachers, if we do not read the Bible or Christian brochures, if we ignore the messages that God places in our hearts, then we close ourselves to his grace. But if we welcome the messages of God, it is the gateway to blessing but especially to eternal salvation. The message of salvation comes from God but it is carried by human entities, books and other media. Also, God is capable of depositing a message himself in the heart of a person, be they pagan or atheist. Let us welcome the Lord, welcome his channels of communication, welcome the message that they bring us. By doing so, we welcome God. By welcoming a messenger of God, we welcome God. A promise is made to the bearers of the Good News, they will shine like the stars, forever and ever (Daniel 12:3). But in our text here, another promise is made to those who welcome a prophet as a prophet, they will receive a prophet's reward. The fact of welcoming a righteous person as a righteous person, they will receive a righteous person's reward. The reward of the prophet and the righteous person remains the same, they will be saved. They will shine in the kingdom of God. It is the same reward that will be received by anyone who receives the Word carried by the servant of God who is a prophet or righteous person. The prophet or the righteous person is the communication channel: preachers on social networks, at the local church, in the streets, through books, posters, audios, CDs, text messages, emails, radios and televisions, evangelistic campaigns... Let us bless those who bring us the gospel. Excellent Monday. Amen
