Theme: “We are set apart for God”
Text: 1 Peter 1:14-16
14. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the lusts which you formerly had, when you were in ignorance. 15. But since he who called you is holy, ye also be holy in all your conduct, as it is written, 16. Ye shall be holy, for I am holy.
Let's remember:
Dogs are not cats. Let us respect this law which shows us that offspring are built on the nature of the parents. We are made in the image and likeness of God, we have only one nature: the holy divine nature because we are of God. But humans have imported a nature that is not adapted to them, wanting to make something new out of something old. This maladjustment reveals how much humans have sought to distance themselves from their creator. While we are set apart, we must only resemble our progenitor who made this distinction for us. If we were created plants or animals we would not have the nature of our creator. It is therefore an opportunity to wear the garment of holiness of our creator God. He is holy, let us also be holy in his likeness. As obedient children, let us not conform to the lusts we once had when we were in ignorance. Our change is irreversible if we want to continue to be set apart. But if we resemble the common workers of darkness, our fate will quickly be sealed and our rights acquired with our Savior Jesus will be taken away and given to other applicants. Since he who called us is holy, let us also be holy in all our conduct. Let us be holy, for God is holy. Have a great Wednesday. Amen
