Theme: “To be in abundant grace» Text: Romans 6:1-3

1. So what shall we say? Would we remain in sin, so that grace would abound? 2. Far from it! We who are dead to sin, how could we still live in sin? 3. Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Jesus Christ have been baptized into his death?

Let's remember:

Baptism symbolizes death to sin and resurrection to life in Christ. By accepting baptism, we agree to put to death the desires of the flesh in order to put on the spiritual body which abhors sin. After baptism we remain sinners (because of the Adamic nature) but we are no longer under the yoke or dominion of sin; we are no longer slaves to sin. God gives us the ability to dominate over sin and at the same time our discernment grows. Our habits must change, our desires also change, the Holy Spirit within us changes our priorities. Reading and practicing the Word of God becomes an obsession. This journey is already an expression of God's abundant grace. Abundant grace sets us up in true freedom. Freedom to serve God, freedom to say no radically to the old life because old things have passed away and behold all things have become new. Under abundant grace, we are no longer subject to sin. But grace is deceptive for anyone who diverts its true meaning by taking advantage of satisfying his carnal appetites. Excellent Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
