Theme: “To be in abundant grace“
Text: Genesis 18:3-4
3. And he said, Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes, do not pass away, I pray you, from your servant. 4. Allow a little water to be brought to wash your feet; and rest under this tree.
Remember:
In life, there are factors that can cause abundant grace to arise. The attitudes that we adopt on a daily basis can be very determining in the acquisition of abundant grace. Abraham ran towards unknown passengers to offer them his hospitality. His problem was not seeing them standing up and homeless. Now, it is written in Hebrews 13:2. “Do not forget hospitality; for, while exercising it, some have lodged angels, without knowing it”. Obviously this hospitality had fallen on real angels sent by God for him. And if he had left them hanging around the middle of the village without assistance, how would this story end? However Abraham ran to his wife Sarai to tell her to make a dish for the visitors who had come unexpectedly. Sarai could have evoked various evasive reasons; but she aligned herself with her husband's decision. Abraham took such care of his guests that he elicited blessings and abundant graces. Being insensitive will only lead us to contempt and disgrace. Being miserly does not bring graces. Let us be hospitable and sincere so that God supplies our grace by making it abundant. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
