Theme : " To be a prosperous family " Text : Genesis 13: 1-12

1. Abram went up out of Egypt towards the south, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him. 2. Abram was very rich in cattle, silver and gold. 3. He led his walks from the south to Bethel, to the place where his tent was at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4. to the place where the altar which he had previously made was. And there Abram called on the name of the Lord. 5. Lot, who was traveling with Abram, also had sheep, herds, and tents. 6. And the country was insufficient for them to dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together. 7. There was a quarrel between the shepherds of Abram's flocks and the shepherds of Lot's flocks. The Canaanites and the Peresians were then living in the land. 8. Abram said to Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, nor between my shepherds and thy shepherds; because we are brothers. 9. Is not the whole land before you? So separate yourself from me: if you go to the left, I will go to the right; if you go right, I will go left. 10. Lot looked up and saw the whole Jordan plain, which was completely watered. Before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was as far as Zoar as a garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. 11. Lot chose all the plain of the Jordan for himself, and went eastward. This is how they separated from each other. 12. Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan; and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tents as far as Sodom.

Let us remember :

In our families, disagreements happen because our children quarrel. We notice conflicts of interest born of inheritance or even jealousy. These misunderstandings make cohabitation unlivable. Others felt humiliated and even despoiled; despite patience, the passage of time has only aggravated the contradictions. Than to fall into the trap of hatred, brawl or other mortifications; it is better to separate the paths in order to preserve the good relations. Each one will have to make his life far from the other while preserving the peace and the love which God recommends to us. May the riches of this world not impose on us a selfish, unhealthy life before God. Going in the opposite direction should not put us in a battle of enemies. Excellent Friday and good entry into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
