To be a disciple of Jesus Christ

Saturday December 3, 2022

Theme: “To be a disciple of Jesus Christ"

Text: Luke 10:38-41

38. As Jesus was on the way with his disciples, he entered a village, and a woman named Martha received him into her house. 39. She had a sister, named Mary, who, having sat at the feet of the Lord, listened to his word. 40. Martha, busy with various domestic tasks, came and said: Lord, does it not matter to you that my sister leaves me alone to serve? So tell him to help me. 41. The Lord answered her: Martha, Martha, you worry and worry about many things.

Remember:

Worrying and fussing over anything and everything; this is what characterizes the disciple today. We are drawn to what does not satisfy the Master. Our attention is focused on the things of this world as the Lord our Master speaks to us about salvation day and night. Everything is allowed to me but everything is not useful. Let's choose between what is necessary and what is useful. There is often a big gap that will make the difference between our attractions and the expectations of the Master. On the surface, there are things that contribute to our natural fulfillment but which make war on faith, which distance us from God or which delay the reign of God in our lives. If we go to the basics, God will take care of what is necessary. Prefer to eat spiritual food with its rich dietary supplements; the Master knows that our body lives on physical bread too; he will give us time to go and cook. But let us not privilege the carnal to the detriment of the spiritual; it is the open door to perdition. Let's start by listening to God, it is an absolute priority. Then cooking and other occupations will follow. Thus, we would have eaten the spiritual and the physical, we will be complete and not unbalanced. Excellent Saturday. Amen
