Theme : " The unalterable love of God for man in distress " Text : John 3: 1-16
1. But there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, 2. who came himself to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a coming teacher. of God; for no one can do these miracles which you do except God with him. 3. Jesus answered him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he return to his mother's womb and be born? 5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is Spirit. 7. Do not be surprised that I told you: You must be born again. 8. The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound; but you do not know where it comes from, or where it is going. So it is with every man who is born of the Spirit. 9. Nicodemus said to him: How can this be done? 10. Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11. Verily, verily, I say unto you, we speak what we know, and bear record of what we have seen; and you do not receive our testimony. 12. If you don't believe when I tell you about earthly things, how will you believe when I tell you about heavenly things? 13. No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven. 14. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, 15. So that whoever believes in him may have everlasting life. 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Let us remember :
Man has been in a life of distress since the dawn of time and this explains the presence of a compassionate God; always ready to intervene to save, bless, heal, deliver, sanctify, help ... in his legendary love. Man's distress comes from his unbelief. An unconverted heart is unparalleled distress. Likewise, the lack of the Holy Spirit is a distress for man who keeps him subject to the directions of the flesh and the devil. God cannot stand to see a man living in sin; it is an affliction which tidies the heart of God. It is true, God is greatly affected by human distress. Not supporting this disappointment imposed by the devil; God made a self-determination in order to save the world in distress. He gave his life to save ours. Therefore, let us accept the new birth to leave the life of distress and please God. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
