Theme : " The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem "
Text : Luke 19:29-31
29. When he approached Bethphage and Bethany, towards the mountain called the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 30. saying, Go to the village opposite; when you enter it, you will find a colt tied, on which no man has ever sat; untie him, and bring him. 31. If someone asks you: Why do you untie him? you will answer him: The Lord needs it.
Let's remember:
Jesus demonstrated his royal authority and did not hesitate to use it to attract the attention of the Jews who did not believe in his messianic work. Knowing that the death of the cross awaited him in Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets, the Son of David makes a final sensational entry into this city of David. Jesus commands everything in this world. He can take everything that belongs to others without the owner discussing who owns his property. Everything is subject to it and nothing can escape this reality. Since the dawn of time, no one could disembark at someone else's house to take his colt without permission on the grounds that the master needs it. And here Jesus sends the disciples in his name. Everything was established for them to be refused and that would be normal. However, Jesus wanted to assure his disciples who will soon be left alone that even in his absence, his Word will lead them as long as they remain obedient and committed to the work of God. To give his colt to Jesus is to accept him as King and to favor his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. What is our contribution to favoring the entry of Jesus into unbelieving hearts? Excellent Thursday of trust in God. Amen Alain Louz.-
