Theme: "The Transforming Power of the Gospel."

Text: Hebrews 4:11-12

11. Let us therefore strive to enter into that rest, so that no one falls by giving the same example of disobedience. 12. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Let us remember:

The gospel is the gateway to God's rest. By its transforming power, the gospel opens us to every kind of rest. Through the gospel, by means of its power, we have access to rest in the bosom of God. Also, the transforming power of the gospel allows us to rest in the hollow of God's holy hands. Again, the transforming power of the gospel brings us into the rest of His security where no creature on earth, sea, or heaven can snatch us from His hand. Better yet, the transforming power of the gospel brings us into eternal rest. This cherry on the cake crowns all our earthly work. The gospel is more than just a written message. It is a living, effective transforming power that destroys a life damaged by the devil in order to rebuild a better one that nothing can destroy or possess. The gospel eradicates the old covenants based on the custom of men and then installs the new covenant built on the blood of Christ. No sword of this world can compete with the gospel because the sword of men can only cut. Now, the sword of the gospel cuts away the works of the flesh in us and builds on these ruins the works of the Spirit. The gospel is able to do one of the most delicate operations consisting of separating soul and spirit, joints and marrow. Human surgeons have not yet succeeded in doing it. No power can surpass the power of the Gospel. Therefore, let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the power of the Gospel. Excellent Tuesday. Amen.
