Theme: "The Seduction of the End Times"
Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
3. Let no one deceive you in any way, for that day must come first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, 4. Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Let us remember:
It is obvious that we must not let ourselves be deceived in any way by this century and its workers. At the time when Paul gave this message to the Thessalonians, the signs he described were not yet visible. But today, we see them gradually taking hold. Without shame or embarrassment, the devil's supporters set up their scene without hiding. Every child of God, a diligent reader of his Word, is informed of all this diabolical masquerade. We see the arrival of all the signs described by our Lord and his apostles. But we have no fear, we know that it is rather God's plan that is unfolding according to his predictions. This is why, let us not easily let ourselves be shaken in our good sense, and let us not be troubled, either by some inspiration, or by some word, or by some event that we would see here and there. Let us know that seduction can come from the devil, seductive spirits, the antichrist, riches, sin, and ourselves. 1 John 1:8 teaches us that everyone can "self-deceive" themselves: "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." So, seduction is a deception that pleases, it is a perception that is nevertheless erroneous but that we believe to be true. Let us use discernment to escape from it. Excellent Monday and good end of September. Amen
