Theme : " The secret of contemplating the glory of God " Text : John 11: 21-44
21. Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22. But right now, I know that whatever you ask of God, God will grant it to you. 23. Jesus said to her, Your brother will be raised from the dead. 24. I know, replied Martha, that he will rise again in the resurrection, on the last day. 25. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even if he is dead; 26. and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that? 27. She said to him, Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world. 28. Having thus spoken, she went away. Then she secretly called Mary, her sister, and said to her: The master is here, and he asks you. 29. As soon as Mary heard, she got up quickly and went to him. 30. For Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was in the place where Martha had met him. 31. The Jews who were with Mary in the house and who were consoling her, seeing her get up quickly and go out, followed her, saying, She is going to the sepulcher to weep there. 32. When Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell at his feet, and said to him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 33. Jesus, seeing her weeping, she and the Jews who had come with her, shuddered in her spirit, and was quite moved. 34. And he said, Where have you put him? Lord, they replied, come and see. 35. Jesus wept. 36. Whereupon the Jews said, See how he loved him. 37. And some of them said, Could he not also that he opened the eyes of the blind man, that this man should not die? 38. Jesus, trembling again in himself, went to the sepulcher. It was a cave, and a stone was placed in front of it. 39. Jesus said: Take away the stone. Martha, the dead man's sister, said to him: Lord, he already feels, for he has been here four days. 40. Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you that, if you would believe, you would see the glory of God? 41. So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes on high, and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42. For me, I knew that you always answer me; but I spoke because of the crowd around me, so that they would believe that it was you who sent me. 43. Having said this, he cried with a loud voice: Lazarus, come out! 44. And the dead man came out with his hands and feet bound in bands, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, Loose him, and let him go.
Let us remember :
If you believe you will see the glory of God. The secret is delivered by Jesus himself. There is an inseparable relationship between believing and seeing the glory of God. The reverse will bring us back to Thomas who wanted to see before believing. The glory of God is within the reach of those who know how to open their hearts to the Word of God. As soon as this Word settles there; life will not be the same because it changes radically. At that moment, Jesus will take full control of this life by making you contemplate his glory. This is why each one must remove the stone of doubt placed in front of his heart and which bars the entry of Jesus into our life. There is a stone that is blocking the blossoming of our spiritual gifts… let's remove it. Our unbelief saddens Jesus to the point of shedding tears. Even when we believe we are already irrecoverable and doomed to perdition, let us only remove the stone and our eyes will see the glory of God. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
