The responsibility of the Christian in the face of violence

Theme: “The responsibility of the Christian in the face of violence"

Text: Proverbs 18:7

7. A fool's mouth causes his ruin, And his lips are a snare to his soul.

Let's remember:

From the mouth come violent and destructive words. He who knows how to master his language spares his neighbor from verbal violence. Our mouth must be closed instead of opened to pile up the sins that we would have avoided. Many comments contain a dose of violence that frustrates and destroys the victim. This is how we are asked to bridle our tongues. In the figurative sense, the word bridle means: brake, obstacle, restraint. To bridle one's tongue means to have restraint in one's remarks. The sins of the language are: lie, blasphemy, insult, flattery, slander, the list is not exhaustive. James 1:26 says “If anyone thinks he is religious, not bribing his tongue, but deceiving his heart, that man's religion is vain”. A fool's lips mingle in strife, and his mouth provokes blows. The reporter's words are like sweets, they go down to the bottom of the entrails. Let's not be violent in our words at the risk of damaging our neighbor and damaging our soul. May our mouth be used to bless. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen
