The reconciliation of God with his people

Saturday April 22, 2023

Theme: "The reconciliation of God with his people" Text: Ephesians 2:14-18

14. For he is our peace, he who has made one of the two, and has broken down the wall of separation, enmity, 15. having destroyed by his flesh the law of ordinances in its prescriptions, so to create in himself with both one new man, establishing peace, 16. and to reconcile them, both in one body, with God by the cross, thereby destroying the enmity. 17. He came to proclaim peace to you who were far off, and peace to those who were near; 18. For through him we both have access to the Father in one Spirit.

Let's remember:

Some are far or were far from God; and others closer. But the link created by the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross puts us in the position of Sons reconciled with God as Father. The wall or veil of sin that separated us; God destroyed it in order to introduce us to a new life that is made of peace and reconciliation. From now on, we are in God and God is in us. We form one body and his Spirit in us testifies to it. The fusional aspect that characterizes our union with God comes from the demolition of our old life distant from God; then the reconstruction of a new life in which we are clothed with grace. Christ therefore destroyed the enmity that characterized our dual nature. We were half fig half grape; half spiritual and half carnal. Through reconciliation, God places us in a new seat. As such, sin no longer has a hold on those who have been reconciled to their Heavenly Father. This does not mean that we can no longer commit sin, no, but sin no longer has dominion over us. We are no longer slaves to sin. We now have the ability to say NO to our executioner the devil. Our flesh can be well disposed as our spirit already is. Jews and nations, men and women, rich and poor all have been reconciled and merged in God. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
