Theme: "The reconciliation of God with his people" Text: Ezekiel 36:6-15

6. Therefore prophesy over the land of Israel, Say to the mountains and to the hills, To the streams and to the valleys: Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I speak in my jealousy and in my anger, Because you bear the ignominy of the nations. 7. Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I lift up my hand! It is the nations around you Who will themselves bear their ignominy. 8. And you, mountains of Israel, you will sprout your boughs, and you will bear your fruit for my people of Israel; Because these things are about to happen. 9. Behold, I will be favorable to you, I will turn to you, And you shall be cultivated and sown. 10. I will set many men upon you, all the house of Israel; The cities will be inhabited, And they will rebuild on the ruins. 11. I will multiply men and animals upon you; They will multiply and be fruitful; I want you to be inhabited as before, And I will do you more good than before; And you will know that I am the Lord. 12. I will cause men to come upon you, my people Israel, and they shall possess you; You will be their heritage, And you will destroy them no more. 13. Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because they say unto you, Thou hast devoured men, thou hast destroyed thy own nation, nation, saith the Lord GOD. 15. I will no longer cause you to hear the insults of the nations, neither will you bear the reproach of the peoples any more; Thou shalt destroy thy nation no more, saith the Lord GOD.

Let's remember:

There is only happiness in being reconciled with Yahweh. If there is an enemy to avoid having in your arms, it is the Eternal God of Abraham. We must not set up God as an enemy. Nor should we be enemies of the cross. Refuse to be at enmity with God and His servants. In short, let us not be at enmity with God or with our neighbour. Let us favor reconciliation both with God and with our neighbour. Indeed, to be at enmity with a person is to be at enmity with God because the human person is a kind of representation of God. Those who are reconciled to God see their doors open for as long as they will be. They access divine graces and experience a positive change of course. By being reconciled with God, one can no longer bear ignominy; on the contrary, it is the enemies around us who will themselves bear their ignominy. God's reconciliation with his people bears fruits of all kinds. It is God who supplies the life of those who are in the odor of holiness with Him. To be reconciled with God is a privilege that belongs to the humble who accept their faults, who confess them, forsake them and seek reconciliation.
