The practice of social justice in our homes

Thursday May 12, 2022

Theme: “ The practice of social justice in our homes Text: Acts 10:1-11

1. There was at Caesarea a man named Cornelius, a centurion in the so-called Italian cohort. 2. This man was godly and God-fearing, with all his household; he gave many alms to the people, and prayed to God continually. 3. About the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God who entered his house, and said to him, Cornelius! 4. Looking at him, and seized with terror, he answered: What is it, Lord? And the angel said unto him, Thy prayers and alms have come up before God, and he hath remembered them. 5. Now send men to Joppa, and bring Simon, surnamed Peter; 6. He lodged with a certain Simon, a currier, whose house is near the sea. 7. As soon as the angel who had spoken to him had left, Cornelius called two of his who were attached to his person; 8. and, having told them everything, he sent them to Joppa. 9. The next day, as they were on their way, and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof, about the sixth hour, to pray. 10. He was hungry, and he wanted to eat. While they were preparing food for him, he fell into an ecstasy. 11. He saw the heavens opened, and an object like a great sheet tied at the four corners, descending and lowering towards the earth,

Let's remember:

The Lord is a God of justice. He enjoys visiting families who practice social justice and seek his face daily. Such families cannot be ignored by God because they are his joy. He visits them all the time to manifest his presence among them. God even proposes to send his servants to teach in such families. Therefore, let's be pious and God-fearing within our home; let us give many alms to the people, and pray continually to God. Let's get into the habit of inviting our neighbours, friends and acquaintances into our home to spend times of prayer and sharing the Word of God. If we have tasted that it is good to serve God, let us take the trouble to let others taste his delights. Corneille, a pious man, had helped his family to love God. He also did it for his guard, since one of the soldiers was pious. God is just, he cannot remain indifferent to our piety and that of our family. Corneille also is not indifferent to the piety of the soldier in his guard; he puts it in the right shots. Excellent Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
