Text: Acts 20:28-29

28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit hath made you overseers, to feed the church of the Lord, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29. For I know that after my departure savage wolves shall come in among you, not sparing the flock,

Let us remember:

To be careful means: to pay attention in the interest of avoiding danger; it is to pay particular attention to someone in order to avoid disappointment. It is up to us to be careful to prevent the occurrence of disappointment caused by failure, mishap, error; in short, let us take care of the flock that God has entrusted to us. The first attention must be paid to ourselves because our loss would implicitly imply that of the sheep and therefore of the flock. The imbalance of the shepherd makes the entire sheepfold vulnerable. Here we are talking about the bishops, yes, but who is a bishop? A bishop is the dignitary of the church who possesses the fullness of the priesthood and who regularly has the spiritual direction of a community. The bishop is the shepherd designated and consecrated to become responsible for a sheepfold. He is both its head and its guardian. This is exactly the role of a father or a mother within the family. It is also that of an older brother who has custody of his little ones. It is the role of a business leader. It is the role of a political party leader. It is the role of a head of state. We are all called to pay attention to those who walk with us. The price paid for the acquisition of this flock is so high that we must be up to the task. Let no wolf come and disturb the flock: let us be vigilant! Excellent month of June. Amen
