Theme: “The need for salvation gives rise to the need for a good shepherd

Text: 1 Kings 18:18-21

18. Elijah answered: I will not trouble Israel; on the contrary, it is you and your father's house, since you have abandoned the commandments of the LORD and have gone after the Baals. 19. Now gather all Israel unto me unto Mount Carmel, and also the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Ashtoreth, which eat at the table of Jezebel. 20. Ahab sent messengers to all the children of Israel, and he gathered the prophets to Mount Carmel. 21. Then Elijah came near to all the people, and said, How long will you hold back on both sides? If the LORD be God, go after him; if it is Baal, go after him! The people answered him nothing.

Let's remember:

When the problem becomes widespread in any environment, measures must be taken to clarify things. May those who have difficulty positioning themselves be edified and make the right decision. There is so much unrest and confusion within communities and families that we must invite the good shepherd. Leaders of communities, businesses, parents, friendships must be based on listening to the Good Shepherd. He speaks to us every day, let's not turn a deaf ear. The good shepherd is not silent, he speaks to us through his Word; let's read it. Let us listen to the Holy Spirit, obey his instructions. The gentle voice that whispers in our heart, this voice that urges us to sanctification, is that of the Holy Spirit. Let us love prayer, seek the face of God through prayer. Many people are bearers of the Good News; they speak to us, without interruption, on behalf of God: let us listen to them. Whoever disturbs the people of God creates a barrier to the action of the good shepherd. If we abandon the commandments of the Lord to go after the Baals, the magicians, the marabouts, the satanic lodges, the works of darkness... we move away from the need for salvation and therefore from the good shepherd. Let us not disperse the people of God, otherwise the good shepherd will strike us with his staff. Have a great Wednesday. Amen
