Theme: "The Lord is near"
Text: James 4:8
8. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, you double-minded men.
Let us remember:
The Lord had already taken the first step of love by loving us first when we were indifferent to this love. He made grace available and permanent. Every day, he renews his love for us. His love is sincere and never fails, it is renewed perpetually. The Lord is near to us but we move away from Him when we do things without Him or when we are not obedient to Him. Anyone who would like to lead his life without God, moves away from Him and rejects his assistance. We must let God keep control of our life. This involves abandoning our decisions into His hands so that He may enlighten them with His love. Let us draw near to the Lord while He is near. Let us not reject His grace, let us not turn our backs on His love. Let us not offend the goodness of God shown to us. Let us draw near to God, and He will draw near to us. Let us cleanse our hands, for we are sinners; let us purify our hearts, for we are double-minded men. Drawing near to God means that we must love Him with all our heart and all our strength. It is also a call to humility, to a commitment to entrust Him with total control of our being. It is up to us to sow our love in the heart of God who is already full of love. If we sow in His heart, we will reap His investment in our lives. Let us destroy the evil and sin that surround us. Have a great Saturday. Amen.
