Theme: “The good witness of the Christian family

Text: Romans 12:1-2

1. I exhort you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable worship. 2. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Let's remember:

These two verses lay the doctrinal foundations; linking with previous chapters. We learn several lessons there including practical life, service and even the source of true consecration. Indeed, Paul teaches us the behavior that should guide the Christian who has been renewed, when he has encountered God. Thus, each member of the Christian family must have an individual encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. When this meeting is successful, it establishes good witness within the Christian family. It all begins with God’s compassions, his love for humanity. This love, clearly full of compassion, comes to seek us out from the error of sin to place us in its care. In response to this love, each member of the Christian family must offer his or her body as a living, holy sacrifice acceptable to God, which is reasonable worship on our part. The elements constituting the cult are not external to us; but they are in us, they must push us to the service of God. It is about obedience, faith, love, sanctification... Each member of the body of Christ must not expose themselves or conform to the present age, rather they must offer their life to Christ by standing in death in order to let the life of Christ act in him. If we let our fleshly desires die, Christ will bring to life in us the fruit of the Spirit which is the source of the good testimony of the Christian family. Have a great Monday. Amen
