Theme : " The God of Jacob "
Text : Genesis 31: 1-7
1. Jacob heard the words of the sons of Laban, who said, Jacob has taken all that was our father, and it is with our father's good that he has acquired all this wealth. 2. Jacob also noticed Laban's face; and behold, he was no longer towards him as before. 3. Then the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy birthplace, and I will be with thee. 4. Jacob sent for Rachel and Leah, who were in the field with his flock. 5. He said to them, “I see in your father's face that he is no longer towards me as before; but the God of my father has been with me. 6. You yourselves know that I have served your father with all my power. 7. And your father played with me, and changed my wages ten times; but God did not allow him to hurt me.
Let us remember :
The God of Jacob reveals himself to those who hope in Him. He revealed to Jacob what to do with his stepfather Laban. When evil tongues rise up against us, the God of Jacob condemns them and silences them; thus He makes us triumph. He reveals the hidden things; secrets and other hateful thoughts that some people ruminate on. Our God reassures us; He traces our path and beacons it. He removes the pitfalls and the holes that are in our way; he fills it and lets us pass. The God of Jacob is faithful in his promises; He makes them for our comfort. When people abuse us; it is this God who takes our defense, He confuses our adversaries. The Lord defends our cause; He does not allow anyone to hurt us. Let us rejoice, the God of Jacob carries us in his Father's heart. Excellent Thursday of joy. Amen Alain Louz.-
